BLUE ROAD

I will walk along that path
A dirt road or a byway
It's the only way home
I'm takin' the blue highway.

Casting these cold dark glances into the wind
Toward what I'm leaving behind
Broken dreams and bad dances
Warm beer, gin and rotten wine.

I live on the blue road
Each exit I pass
Eases my troubled load.

I'm wasting my life away
To find out what I'm feeling
I will travel on and laugh
And keep the feeling reeling.

I will walk along that road
Wherever it may lead
It's the only way home
And its all that I need.
