RAIN IN THE SUNSHINE

The river rides a current of magic
As the sun hangs low in the sky
Beaming its life into nature
As the fruit falls from the vine.

A haze of lights hang over our city
As we sit and count the time
Like the butterfly on its flower
You are my valentine.

When the tears of yesterday
Flow to the future like wine
Mix with the joy of tomorrow
Like rain in the sunshine.

The grass is sprinkled with dew
As this morning feels so fine
Waking up and seeing the smile
Of my only valentine.

The hills slowly rise in the distance
From the nightfall they hide
As their green shades get uncovered
And stretch out for miles.
