IF I COULD SING I thought I would take the time To compose this crafted poem Just to say I love you Then I'll recite it at home. I'd like to tell you feelings That get brighter by the years If I could sing I'd be crooning Velvet words into your ears. If I could play the guitar I would wail a lead to you And I'd strum a melody With your spirit as its tune. I could be the foundation If I'd only play the bass I'd hold down the bottom end Groove the tempo to its pace. I would play a sonata Lightly on the piano If I could follow the keys Beautiful music would flow. If I was a good drummer I'd pound out a solid beat I would create a new song Getting hotter than our heat. There is one thing I can do Get out the paper and pen And write a sparkling love song Of a dream that will not end. So I thought I'd take the time To write what I think is true My life is a symphony And I would play it for you/
