POEM AT YOUR WEDDING I want to read a poem at your wedding One that describes a love that is so fair It has to be full of symbology And vivid images of love that cares. I want to see you in an antique gown Just off white enough to show off your style With embroidered patterns of pink roses And the timeless beauty of a bride's smile. I can see the groom in his classic tux That is only upstaged by his long hair And the joy that reflects from his face Is the joy that everyone gets to share. I want to look up from what I'm reading So I can lock in on both of your eyes And feel the magic of becoming A married couple standing by my side. I want to send you on a honeymoon With words that I have not begun to write I want to watch you both dance together And know that this dance will last for life. I want to be part of your family As they greet the guests beaming with their pride And I want to breathe the Oceanside air When I get my turn to dance with the bride. I can already hear the rabbi's prayers As he gives this great marriage his insight And I can see the light that is in your eyes And then watch your lives begin their new flight. I want to read a poem at your wedding Because I have words to speak if I dare I will try to describe all love's wonders But most of all I just have to be there.
